Biogas in Namo Buddha!
We have been updating our environmental green movements in the Monastery. Our first project involved cleaning up the monastery and planting trees. We are now starting our second wave of environmental improvements to the monastery, and how we can be more sensitive to our green imprint on these sacred lands. These improvements not only help the environment but allow the monastery to be more economic and resourceful.
A major project we are starting is the making of bio gas for the monastery. We feel this will be a great benefit to the local environment. In doing this we are also following His Holiness, The 17th Gyalwang Karmapa’s wish, found in His Holiness’s book, One Hundred and Eight Things You Can Do to Help the Environment. “24. Use biogas as an alternative to fuel wood.” (Pg. 22).
