We live in Thrangu Tara Abbey in Nepal. After His Holiness the Karmapa called us for the Environment Conference, we made an aspiration then that we would turn our nunnery into a paradise.

His Holiness’s vision that all monasteries and nunneries should take care of the Earth as part of  our vinaya vow changed how we see the world.

We started by collecting every type of tree and plant sapling that we could find and planting them.

As a prayer of thankfulness and prayer of long life for His Holiness the Karmapa and for Thrangu Rinpoche, we would like to offer our garden’s flowers as a mandala offering.

All life on Earth is precious. We must always cherish it.

Picture9

The earth is always taking care of us. Like a mother she only looks to give us what we need.

Picture10

In turn, we should also give back to her.

Picture11

Where possible, we must bring back Nature.

Picture12

We must protect the environment.

Picture13

And encourage all wildlife and biodiversity to grow.

Picture14

May the teachings of all our gurus spread peace and joy everywhere.

Picture15

May these photographs bring peace and joy to you.

Picture16

Even if you start small, please protect trees. They are the source of air we breathe.

Picture17

We want to thank the Earth for nurturing us, for nourishing us. She gives us everything we need. We cannot give up on the Earth.
